Hello.
My name is Brent and I started this site to help those just starting out their ketogenic journey.
Ever since I was young I have been big.
Well more overweight as a child. But that really changed after high school.
In my twenties I became a bit reclusive and got addicted to videogames. I spent all my time before and after work in those Call of Duty lobbies.
After about a decade of this terrible living I added a couple hundred pounds to my body and had zero ambition and motivation.
I hit my 30’s and decided it was time for a change. I finally go t a decent job and after reaching little goals here and there started making progress in some areas of my life.
But after 5 years or so I still hadn’t focused on weight-loss.
In 2018 I tried the keto diet after many failed attempts at calorie counting, chicken and rice diets, etc. I lost about 50 pounds in about 6 months. Then unfortunately I got lazy again. Gained that weight back and stopped focusing on my weight again.
I gradually lost some weight here or there, but then COVID hit and boy did I really let myself go.
I ended up at 538 pounds by the end of COVID. When I stepped on the scale after not weighing myself for 2 and a half years, to say I was shocked would be the understatement of the century.
I then got diagnosed as diabetic. I was definitely diabetic during COVID but never diagnosed. I finally decided, seemingly too late, it was time to change.
I decided to get back on the keto diet and it has been a slow but steady progression.
I am down 100 pounds, 40 of those in the last 7 months. I hope one day to get off the medications I have to take, and know I will someday.
Thanks for visiting my site.
